TroubleshootingThis is a featured page

There are number of (minimal) technical requirements and processes that should be checked before running any live sessions of InterLoc. Checking these in advance can ensure everything will run smoothly when InterLoc is used.

The following provides a recommended checklist of actions to undertake before going ahead with a live InterLoc session:
  • Internet access must be available
  • If you have (or your Institution has) a firewall, port 5222 must be open for InterLoc to work (only TCP traffic is required).
  • Check ‘Admin Rights’ on the computers that are going to be used, sometimes ‘admin rights’ can prevent the complete download of InterLoc
  • Check the latest version of Java (6) was able to download. Java should automatically download with the InterLoc software, however this may be prevented due to ‘admin rights’ on certain computers, such as student computers on a University’s network.
  • If Java (6) cannot download you will need to organise this procedure with your IT support team or whoever manages ‘student build’. If there is a problem with this the developers are able to supply InterLoc as software for local installation.
