Instead of the Learning Manager entering lots of student usernames/passwords would it be easier to use a system like this wiki in which students Register. I am thinking it might work like this. The tutor would either generate emails for a set of students or post on a secure webpage the invite with a keyword. The keyword identifies the students as users for that Learning Manager. They register with their full name and are put in a practice room. The LM later assigns an actual room to each group. A lot less work for a LM and in some ways more secure - the user chooses their username and password. Feedback please.

From my recent expereince I have a few comments. I didn't see what the activity would look like to a game player until I had set up the rooms and users etc and logged in as a player. At this point I realised I have misunderstood what certain sections were asking for, especially around setting the discussion task. Did I miss an opportunity to preview this view? The ability to do so would be helpful - and if it is possible could this be pointed out in the manual?
Although I knew from previous experience that the activity template can't be edited once rooms etc had been set up, it was still a shock to realise this once I saw what I had actually created! A 'THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO EDIT THE ACTIVITY TEMPLATE!' warning would perhaps be another useful addition to the manual.
Again, thanks! Sally

Additions needed in Interloc 5 Manual

I've just worked through the manual to set up an activity, rooms and users in Interloc5, following the manual closely. However I came unstuck at a couple of points. Luckily Musbah was on hand to help overcome them, but simple additions in the manual would make contacting him unnecessary. 1) provide tips on how to cut and paste into the activity template from elsewhere (especially necessary for URLs). Right clicking doesn't work; pressing shift and insert does. 2) Setting up rooms. On Page 7 the manual says that by default Interloc will use the critical reasoning game. I relied on this, but as a result couldn't save the room. Musbah suggested I actually insert the critical reasoning template (which luckily I had on my computer) as sometimes the default doesn't work. Either this needs to be fixed or the user needs to be warned and told what to do in the event it happens.
Thanks! Sally

When browsing players are looking for the next new message. Why not add a btn to the bottom which cycles around the new messages. This reduces distracting browsing to mininum.

I would prefer a new window to type in so that the scrolling on the screen does not mess it up. Clever tho the inline input box is, it isnt very practical

If you can click on whole msg to activate event then use it as a Reply btn - no misunderstanding about which msg you are replying to then Bolded msgs would be cleared by clicking once, replied to by clicking twice

'View HTML' as btn wording not so helpful - suggests i am going to see HTML source encoding. It matters not to the viewer that it is HTML format - it is waht you are goint to do with it. Suggest 'View & Save'

It takes a lot of real estate onscreen. Also confusing I thought I was replying to the message immediately above it - but it is inconsistent actually a reply to the topic thread. Suggest. Make it same style as reply under the Topic thread. Have a Top^ btn on btm of window to set screen to top so you can see Contribute btn
